It was an incredible year of learning, growing and loving every second we had with all the wonderful people who joined us here at Leaning Tree Trail Rides. Not only did we get to be a part of birthday parties, trail rides, surprises, cart and pony rides but we got to be a part of a confidence building, starting horses and helping people get back into the saddle. We thought young minds and were a psy-ed class for one little cowboy who was being home schooled. What adventures we had! What was a plan to just trail ride became so much more. Although we are blanketed with snow .. well, ice now, we have been prepping for our 2018 season. Horses still need to be fed and exercised, upkeep on trails, and plans of improvement to make the 2018 season an even better one.
We welcomed a few more critters to the ranch. Amara was messaged at 11pm at night about a mini needing a new home – Duke ended up winning over Amara’s heart while he had his week trial here and some how Shawn got a very vocal and smart potbelly pig named Lenny during that pick up. A little (and I mean little!), low line angus calf was gifted to us this fall by one of Amara’s photo clients .. we named him Dan .. and Amara loves to walk him down the road and watch people do double takes at what she is walking. He is currently at the farm with Amara’s parents’ with all of his buddies. Two beautiful mares made a home here, Cheyanne + Jesse – another Jesse! – and you will be sure to be seeing the Palomino and Dun in many photos!
For those wondering how Major and Teddy are – they got to enjoy some well needed down time to be a horse. They’ve heavily enjoyed doing what they love to do – eat – so you will find Major back here at home getting some much needed exercise!
As for the Christmas holidays .. it will be spent at home, with our family .. both human and furry families 😉 We want to wish you all a safe and Merry Christmas and we can’t wait to have you adventuring with us next season!
Here are a few new photos! Don’t forget to follow us on instagram (@leaningtreetrailrides) and on Facebook for current updates!
In the middle of our crazy season, we took a bit of down time with our family + horses and headed back to one of our favorite places to trail ride (other than here!) – the Ya Ha Tinda – to get married after 7.5 beautiful years together!
Toboggan rides behind the horse are a must around here!
